Poet, photographer and publisher Jonathan Williams (1929 – 2008) championed both the experiments of the avant-garde and the vernacular of his native Appalachia. This exhibition concentrates on his photographs of fellow Black Mountain College figures and his distinctive literary voice.

A major American sculptor with work in collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., museums in Holland, Australia, Japan and Germany and public art commissions all over the world, Kenneth Snelson was a student at Black Mountain College in 1948 and 1949. This will be his first visit back since 1949.

Mind vs. Target

This new music collective features Shane Perlowin on guitar, Joseph Burkett on bass and Michael Libramento on drums. Each member presents his often rehearsal-intensive original compositions and they compose collectively. Improvisation is a prominent part of the music.
